Celebrate Mary’s birthday

image_pdfimage_print

September 8th is when the Church celebrates the feast of the nativity of the Virgin Mary. Why not tap into this as a great reason to have a party with your family, too?

Learning fun

The backstory can be part of the fun: Have you shared the story of Mary’s birth with your children before?

Food fun

Get some doughnuts, make a cake, grab some candles, and don’t forget a rosary: This includes all the elements of a good party and an encouragement to pray, too.

On the other hand, blueberry waffles can make a “Mary cake” just as easily.

Crafty fun

Know those piles of holy cards you have? Find a few Mary ones and create a shrine.

Flower fun

Make your own flowers (and vase): Print and color the vase and flowers, and then attach it and voilà!
